Bahn Mi Sandwich or Banh Mi Bowl

Bahn Mi Marinade 

Pick your protein like chicken thighs or thin pork.

3 tablespoons fish sauce 

1 tablespoon brown sugar 

2 tablespoons soy sauce 

Half a teaspoon sesame oil

Two cloves of garlic mashed

Half a teaspoon ginger powder

2 tablespoons olive oil 

Juice of one lime 

Lemongrass powder or frozen flakes

Red pepper flakes 

 

Combine all ingredients and let protein marinate for several hours. 

Drizzle sauce

3-4 tablespoons mayo 

2 tablespoons Sriracha 

Fresh ground ginger or powdered

1 tablespoon rice vinegar 

Juice of one lime 

Barbecue the protein to its desired finish. Slather the sauce onto a baguette. Add the cut up protein along with pickled vegetables, cucumbers, cilantro, and lettuce. 

This could also be designed as a bowl dish served over white rice.
